New York, 5 November 2022 (TDI): The Permanent Mission of the State of Qatar to the United Nations conducted a session for Member States at the United Nations Headquarters.
The session was organized in partnership with the International Hub on Behavioral Insights to Counter Terrorism in Doha and the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism.

The agenda of the session was to represent the accomplishments and future activities made by International Hub in the fields of research, capacity building, strategic communication, and awareness-raising advocacy initiatives.
The discussion revolved around the prospects of using behavioral insights to address the phenomenon of terrorism, the vulnerable roots that lead to extremism, and how to culminate it.
Permanent Representative of Qatar to the United Nations Alya Ahmed bin Al-Thani declared the International Hub as a leading joint project within the framework of the strong partnership between Qatar and the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism.

She considered the hub close to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’s call for promoting behavioral insights sciences while highlighting the progress made by the hub in Doha in this regard.
For his part, Under-Secretary-General of the UN Counter-Terrorism Office Vladimir Voronkov thanked Qatar for its support of the United Nations Counter-Terrorism and the international hub.
“It is important for the hub’s work to continue with partners in Qatar and around the world to deal with all forms of terrorism”, he added.
It is pertinent to mention here that the meeting was attended by several UN entities, including the Executive Office of the Secretary-General, the Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs, and the United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy.
From the UAE side, the Chief of the International Hub on Behavioral Insights to Counter Terrorism in Doha Aynabat Atayeva along with the head of the national committee for counter-terrorism General Nasser Al Hajri attended the session.
Moreover, the Dean of the science department of Hamad bin Khalifa University Muneer Al Hammadi with Professor of Information Technology Raian Ali took part via a recorded message.
