Islamabad (TDI): Social media platform X experienced a widespread outage on Tuesday, affecting thousands of users across multiple countries, according to Downdetector, which monitors service disruptions through user reports.
In the United States, over 22,900 users reported issues with the platform as of 9:19 a.m. ET. In the United Kingdom, more than 7,000 users were affected by 9:20 a.m. ET, while Canada saw over 2,700 reports of outages.
In Pakistan, around 80 users reported problems with the platform at 7:30 p.m. local time.
Downdetector noted that the figures represent user-submitted reports and may not reflect the exact number of affected users.
Outages of this scale highlight the increasing reliance of people around the world on social media platforms for communication, news, and daily interactions.
