Harbin (TDI): The 27th edition of the Harbin Ice-Snow World, the world’s largest ice-and-snow theme park, is set to open to the public on December 17 in Harbin, the capital of northeastern China’s Heilongjiang province, often dubbed the country’s “ice city.”

Spanning a record 1.2 million square meters, this year’s park is built using 400,000 cubic meters of ice and snow under the theme “Ice and Snow, Fairy Tale World.”

Visitors can explore three main landscape axes, enjoy a large themed parade, and experience an outdoor stage alongside a newly constructed 5,000-square-meter air-supported facility. The park also integrates cutting-edge technology, including smart lighting and AI-driven interactive features.

The opening will kick off a series of events at the Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival, including international ice sculpture competitions, snow football and ice hockey matches, and a New Year’s Eve concert.

Tickets are available for advance purchase via the park’s official WeChat account, as well as through online platforms such as Meituan and Alipay.

A promotional price of 298 yuan (approximately $42) per adult ticket will be available from December 17 to 23, after which the standard ticket price of 328 yuan will apply.

In addition to the Ice-Snow World, Harbin is highlighting two other major winter attractions: the 1.5-million-square-meter Sun Island Snow Expo and an Ice and Snow Carnival along the frozen Songhua River, featuring about 260 snow sculptures and 60 ice-and-snow entertainment projects.
