Washington (TDI): US President Donald Trump has issued a new warning to Iran, urging it to move quickly toward a peace agreement or face severe consequences.
In a post on his Truth Social platform on Sunday, Trump said Iran must act “fast,” warning that failure to reach a deal could result in devastating losses. “For Iran, the Clock is Ticking… or there won’t be anything left of them,” he wrote, adding that “time is of the essence.”
The remarks come amid an ongoing conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran that escalated after major strikes began on February 28. The war has also contributed to rising regional instability and disruptions in global energy supplies, particularly through the Strait of Hormuz, a key shipping route for global oil exports.
Diplomatic efforts to end the conflict have so far made limited progress. Washington and Tehran had agreed to a truce on April 8, but negotiations have since stalled, with both sides accusing the other of failing to offer meaningful concessions.

Iranian media reported that the latest US proposal in negotiations included demands for Iran to limit its nuclear programme to a single facility and transfer its enriched uranium stockpile to US custody. Iranian outlets also said Washington had not offered to release frozen Iranian assets or provide compensation for wartime damage, claims that have further hardened Tehran’s position.
Iranian sources quoted by domestic media described the US proposals as one-sided, saying they risk pushing talks into deadlock.
Meanwhile, regional tensions continue to escalate. A drone strike near the UAE’s Barakah nuclear power plant on Sunday caused a fire but did not result in casualties or radiation leaks, according to Emirati authorities. The incident is under investigation.

Iran-backed groups in Iraq and Yemen have previously been accused of possessing and using drones in regional attacks, although no direct link has been confirmed in the latest UAE incident.
