Washington DC, 9 September 2022(TDI): The President of the United States (US), Joe Biden offered his condolences on the passing away of Queen Elizabeth II.
Biden and first lady Jill Biden also signed a condolence book for the queen at the British Embassy. “She defined an era,” the president said in the statement.

In a lengthy statement earlier in the day, President of United States Biden praised the late queen as a “steadying presence” in a changing world.
President Joe Biden and the first lady said, “she led with grace, an unwavering commitment to duty, and the incomparable power of her example.”

“Queen Elizabeth II was a stateswoman of unmatched dignity and constancy who deepened the bedrock Alliance between the United Kingdom and the United States.
She helped make our relationship special,” the Bidens said in their statement, adding that the US President looked forward to continuing a close relationship with King Charles and the queen consort.
“We send our deepest condolences to the Royal Family, who are not only mourning their Queen, but their dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her legacy will loom large in the pages of British history, and in the story of our world.”
US President Joe Biden also ordered flags to be flown to half-staff at the White House and federal buildings until the queen’s funeral.
She ascended to the throne in 1952, leading the monarchy throughout 14 U.S. presidencies and playing a key role in aiding the United Kingdom’s relationship with the United States.

Queen Elizabeth passed away peacefully at her residence in Scotland on Thursday at the age of 96. She was the longest-reigning monarch in British history. She was the head of the country and a towering presence on the international scene for seven decades.
The new king, Charles, stated, “The death of my beloved Mother, Her Majesty the Queen, is a moment of the greatest sadness for me and all members of my family.”
“I know her loss will be deeply felt throughout the country, the Realms and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world,” the King said in a statement.
