Floods in Pakistan
From mid-June, an unpredictable rainy monsoon has created flooding across Pakistan, killing over 1,600 people, along with almost 600 children, impacting 33 million people, and flooding major portions of the nation, particularly the southern Sindh province.
Flood has devastated more than 1.4 million hectares of fertile land, sparking concerns that it may increase food shortages in the country of over 220 million people.
Analysts in Pakistan believe that the flood has caused more than $30 billion in damage to the country’s infrastructure, destroying highways, bridges, and more than 800,000 homes.
