Beirut, 2 October 2021 (TDI): The Prime Minister of Lebanon, Najib Mikati, received a phone call from the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The Turkish President congratulated the Lebanese Prime Minister on his government securing the confidence of the Parliament. Tayyip Erdogan invited Mikati to visit Turkey. He also wished for the country’s swift recovery. The two discussed Lebanon’s situation at a crucial time.

The bilateral relationship between Turkey and Lebanon is strong. Both have embassies in each other’s countries. Owing to the fact that Lebanon gained independence from Ottoman Syria, Turkey and Lebanon share historical ties.

In the wake of the crisis, the ties are stronger than ever because of Turkey’s help. Turkey has been helping Lebanon generously. It has also offered Lebanon humanitarian help as well as support in other issues.
