Trump Confirms Senior US Team in Contact with Pakistan Mediators on Iran War

Washington (TDI): US President Donald Trump on Monday confirmed that senior American officials are actively engaged in Pakistan-mediated efforts aimed at ending Iran War.

Speaking at a White House news conference, Trump said Vice President JD Vance, special envoy Steve Witkoff, and his son-in-law Jared Kushner are in touch with intermediaries in Pakistan. “They’re all unified and they’re all talking,” he said, adding that an in-person meeting involving Vance remains a possibility.

The diplomatic engagement comes as Iran reiterated its demand for a permanent end to the war, rejecting a US-backed ceasefire proposal conveyed through Pakistan. According to Iranian state media, Tehran’s response includes a 10-point framework calling for an end to regional hostilities, guarantees for safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, lifting of sanctions, and post-war reconstruction.

Trump, however, dismissed the proposal as inadequate and reaffirmed his deadline for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a critical artery for global energy supplies. He warned of severe military consequences if Tehran fails to comply, escalating rhetoric by suggesting that Iran could face devastating strikes targeting infrastructure.

Iranian leadership strongly condemned the US stance, with Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei accusing Washington and Tel Aviv of targeting civilian infrastructure. Iranian officials also maintained that reopening the Strait would be contingent on a complete and verifiable end to hostilities, along with credible guarantees.

Meanwhile, tensions have expanded beyond diplomacy into new domains, including technology. Iranian media warned that a US-linked artificial intelligence facility in Abu Dhabi could be considered a potential target following reported strikes on Tehran’s Sharif University of Technology, which damaged key digital infrastructure.

On the ground, the conflict continues to intensify. Fresh airstrikes and missile attacks were reported across multiple fronts, with casualties rising in both Iran and Israel. Strategic sites, including energy facilities and military installations, have come under repeated attack, further escalating the crisis.
