Telephonic conversation between Presidents of Russia and China


Moscow, 25 August 2021 (TDI): Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, spoke over the phone with Xi Jinping, President of China. Both parties addressed ways to increase collaboration on bilateral and international concerns.

In commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the Treaty of Good Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation, both leaders expressed delight that the Russian-Chinese strategic relationship has grown gradually and dynamically. They had a lengthy talk about Afghanistan issue. They expressed willingness to increase measures to counter the terrorism and drug trafficking emerging from Afghanistan. They also underscored using the full potential of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

On the occasion of the forthcoming 76th anniversary of the end of World War II, both Presidents emphasized the importance to preserve truth and resist attempts to distort history.
