China-UK virtual dialogue


Beijing: 7th July 2021 (TDI):  Premier Li Keqiang appeared in a virtual dialogue with representatives of the British business leaders and discussed China-UK relations, Covid-19 response, climate change, service trade, and cultural exchanges.

Heads of more than 30 multinational corporations and established institutions such as Standard Life, Diageo, and AstraZeneca were also present in the dialogue. Premier Li mentioned that China and the UK play a vital role in maintaining global peace, valuable in upholding free and fair trade and tackling global challenges. Regarding the covid-19 pandemic, he mentioned that Covid-19 can only be defeated if there is strengthened cooperation. China and the UK are among the first few countries that developed and distributed vaccines. President Xi Jinping announced that China will achieve carbon neutrality before 2060. China is making efforts to build an international market that includes all entities and which also includes foreign-invested enterprises to invite more foreign capital. He also mentioned that the two sides must respect one another and encourage the diversity of human civilization.
