Apple to open online store in Saudi Arabia in 2025

RIYADH, (TDI): Apple announced on Monday that it will expand its presence in Saudi Arabia, beginning with the launch of an online store in the summer of 2025. The store will offer the full range of Apple products, with Arabic support and customer service.

In 2026, Apple will open flagship retail stores to further enhance customer access to its products and services.

One of these stores will be located in Diriyah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, marking a significant part of the company’s expansion in the region.

Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, expressed excitement about the expansion, saying, “Our teams are looking forward to deepening our connections with customers and bringing the best of Apple to help people across this country explore their passions, build their businesses, and take their ideas to the next level.”

This move builds on Apple’s previous investments in Saudi Arabia, such as the launch of the region’s first Apple Developer Academy in Riyadh in 2021.

The academy, created in partnership with the Saudi government, Tuwaiq Academy, and Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, offers world-class training for aspiring coders, designers, and entrepreneurs.

Nearly 2,000 students have graduated from the academy, with many now publishing apps on the App Store for both local and global markets.

Apple has continued to expand its educational initiatives, including hosting Saudi Arabia’s first coed Apple Foundation Program this past summer.

The month-long course focused on coding and app development for gaming and will expand in 2025 with additional cohorts.

In addition to educational programs, Apple’s investment in Saudi Arabia has contributed to job creation and the introduction of new technologies for artists, entrepreneurs, small businesses, and commuters.

Over the past five years, Apple has invested over SR10 billion ($2.6 billion) in local companies.
