Kigali, 8 October 2021 (TDI): Beatrice Cyiza, the Director-General of Environment and Climate Change of Rwanda under the Ministry of Rwanda, received her Somali Counterpart, Ahmed Nur Yusuf.
The purpose of the meeting remained on environmental protection and how the cooperation between the Republic of Rwanda and the Federal Republic of Somalia can help to preserve and protect the environment.

Along with it, the attendees of the meeting tabled their programs for combating climate change and environmental degradation.
The discussion focused on learning from each other’s strategies to combat environmental degradation.
The meeting held about a month before the inaugural session of Conference of Parties 26. In COP 26, leaders and environment specialists from across the globe will participate in discussing and combating climate change.
The meeting ended at a good note, and both Director-Generals acknowledged working together for environment protection.
