Pakistani Textile Exporters Display Exceptional Products at Canada’s Trade Exhibition

Mississauga, Canada (TDI): At the Apparel Textile Sourcing (ATS) Canada 2025 trade exhibition in Mississauga, from September 29-October 1, Pakistan’s textile exporters left a strong impression on global buyers by emphasizing high‑value, performance, and sustainable textile products.

Pakistani exhibitors showcased a broad spectrum of goods, from sportswear and technical fabrics to protective apparel, signaling a clear strategic shift beyond commodity yarns and fabrics.

The strong buyer interest and engagement throughout the event suggested higher receptivity than in past years, as Pakistan’s industry seeks to reposition itself in the global supply chain.

This performance comes at a noteworthy moment when Pakistan’s textile sector has faced volatility, and the value‑added segments have shown resilience and growth.

The momentum is evident in broader export data as well. In the first two months of FY26, textile exports surged nearly 10 percent year‑on‑year to USD 3.21 billion, constituting roughly 63 percent of Pakistan’s overall export volume.

To sustain this trajectory, Pakistani textile stakeholders and policymakers face critical tasks ahead.

The federal government is finalizing a five‑year Textiles and Apparel Policy along with a National Industrial Policy aimed at enhancing competitiveness, removing trade bottlenecks, and supporting structural reforms.

Still, structural impediments persist including high energy costs, outdated machinery, and inconsistent regulatory regimes which continue to drag margins, especially when competing with lower‑cost regional rivals.

Many in the industry argue that only by lowering input costs, expediting refunds, and upgrading technological capacity can Pakistan maintain the momentum gained at global platforms like ATS.

If the sector can convert the positive reception it received at the ATS, Pakistan may well establish itself as a preferred source for quality, high‑performance fabrics in North America and beyond.
