Speaking to the participants of the Pakistan Pavilion, Consul General Riaz Ahmed promised full support while also emphasizing the importance of such international displays and collaborations.

Pakistan’s leather goods and their high quality are known world-wide and the exhibition is a great opportunity to share Pakistan’s heritage and craftsmanship in the leather industry.

Globally, Pakistan is the fourth largest exporter of leather apparel; mainly shoes, bags, and jackets. Most of these products are exported to the United States and Europe. In 2022, the leather exports earned a revenue of $746 million.

Domestically, the leather industry is the second largest industry in Pakistan, after textiles, in view of export earnings.

Pakistan’s leather exports to Asia are mostly in the form of raw and tanned leather. The Hong Kong exhibition is a great exposure for Pakistan’s finished leather products which can create a new market in Asia.
