Kakul, 4 November 2021 (TDI): Lieutenant General Viktor Makhmudov, Secretary of the Security Council of Uzbekistan visited Torkham. The Officials from Uzbekistan also visited Pakistan Military Academy in Kakul. Officials from Uzbekistan received a warm welcome from Pakistan’s National Security Advisor, Dr. Moeed Yusuf, and SAPM Commerce and Investment, Razak Dawood.
During their visit, the dignitaries participated in a meeting on the Pak-Afghan border management mechanism. Pakistan’s National Security Advisor, Dr. Moeed Yusuf, and SAPM commerce and Investment, Razak Dawood also briefed them on Border security measures. Border security measures are imperatives as they help check the illegal movement on both sides of the border.
Officials visiting from Uzbekistan lauded Pakistan’s peacebuilding efforts. They acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts in ensuring appropriate measures of counter-terrorism and socio-economic uplift of the tribal districts. The Uzbek delegation was also briefed on the training regime of the Pakistan Military Academy. Academy demonstrated that they provide excellent training to international cadets.
The visiting dignitaries appreciated the training regime of the Pakistan Military Academy and showed interest in developing bilateral military cooperation. Dignitaries also showed interest in joint training ventures.
