King Charles Takes Major Residence Decision

-

London (TDI): King Charles III has reportedly taken a significant step regarding the Queen’s Building on the Balmoral Estate in the Scottish Highlands, amid ongoing tensions with Prince Andrew concerning Royal Lodge.

The monarch is contemplating transforming his remote private estate into an exclusive venue for weddings, pending approval from the local council, according to AFP.

An application submitted for consideration next week by the Licensing Board of Aberdeenshire Council seeks permission to host “weddings, dinners, meetings, and associated events.”

The Queen’s Building, located just north of Balmoral Castle near the estate’s office and stables, was originally constructed in the 1980s as staff quarters and a canteen.

Last year, it was renovated to facilitate dining for visitors.

If the council grants approval at its upcoming meeting next Wednesday, the venue could accommodate up to 277 guests indoors, with an additional 144 on an outside patio.

Balmoral, set within 50,000 acres (20,000 hectares) of picturesque grouse moors, forests, and farmland, is situated approximately 50 miles (30 kilometers) west of Aberdeen and was a favored residence of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

This initiative comes amid the continuing rift between King Charles and his younger brother, Prince Andrew, regarding Royal Lodge.
