Astana (TDI): Kazakhstan’s tourism industry continues to grow, attracting more than 1.2 trillion tenge (KZT) in investments, officials said on Tuesday.
Speaking at a government session on Tuesday, Minister of Tourism and Sport Yerbol Myrzabossynov highlighted steady growth in key sector indicators in 2025. The number of tourists staying at accommodation facilities rose by 12%, surpassing 10 million visitors.
Kazakhstan also improved its ranking on the World Economic Forum’s 2024 Travel and Tourism Development Index, moving up from 62nd to 52nd place, with a target to enter the global top 50.
Investment in the tourism sector increased by 32% compared to 2024, reaching 1 trillion 254 billion tenge, according to official statistics.

The ministry is currently developing and implementing 328 investment projects, including the Oi-Qaragai mountain resort, Hilton and Mandarin Oriental hotel complexes, Keruen Inn road service facilities, and the Jibek Joly entertainment complex.

“The implementation of these projects is expected to create around 10,000 new jobs in the tourism sector,” Myrzabossynov said, underlining the government’s commitment to expanding tourism infrastructure and boosting employment opportunities.
