Tehran (TDI): Iran is reviewing Washington’s response to its latest proposal, with messages exchanged between the two sides through Pakistan regarding the wording of a proposed ceasefire document, according to Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei.
Iran’s Nour News Agency reported, citing Al Jazeera, that the communication involved multiple exchanges over the draft text.
“Based on the original text of Iran’s 14 points, the exchange of messages has been carried out on several occasions,” Baghaei said. He added, “We have received the views of the American side and are currently reviewing them.”
Baghaei made the remarks during Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi[s visit to Iran, with Islamabad playing a mediating role in facilitating communication between Washington and Tehran.
Meanwhile, tensions continued to rise alongside diplomatic efforts, as senior US officials issued sharp warnings to Iran over the stalled negotiations.
White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, speaking to Fox News, said the Iranian leadership faces a decisive choice amid the ongoing impasse. “This new team in Iran has a choice to make,” Miller said.

“They can either agree to a piece of paper that is satisfactory to the United States, or they can face a punishment from our military unlike anything seen in modern history,” he warned.
Separately, Iranian officials maintained a defiant tone, rejecting claims that the US has succeeded in influencing developments around the Strait of Hormuz.
An Iranian military source, quoted by state-linked media, said Washington had failed to reopen the strategic waterway despite repeated efforts, which Tehran described as “tricks.”
The official claimed that the Strait had been closed under orders from senior IRGC leadership and said Iranian forces remained fully prepared for any escalation.
“The Americans, despite a thousand tricks and acts of deception, could not reopen it,” the official said, adding that Iranian forces were on high alert.
The official also claimed that Iran possesses advanced weapons capabilities that have not yet been deployed, warning against any future confrontation.
