Islamabad (TDI): Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi is heading to Tehran for high-level talks with Iranian officials, according to Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency, as Islamabad continues diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions between Washington and Tehran.

His visit comes at a sensitive moment after Iran’s Revolutionary Guards issued a fresh warning, saying any renewed attacks by the United States or Israel would trigger a much wider regional conflict.

The Guards said Iran had not yet used its full military capabilities despite the recent confrontation.

The warning followed remarks by US President Donald Trump, who said Washington could resume strikes on Iran within days if negotiations fail to produce a lasting agreement. Trump claimed Gulf Arab leaders had earlier urged him to delay military action at the last moment.

The conflict, which erupted on February 28, has remained under a fragile ceasefire since April 8. During the fighting, Iran lost several senior figures, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, while Tehran responded with missile and drone attacks across the region.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also warned that any return to war would bring “many more surprises,” signaling Tehran’s readiness for further escalation if diplomacy collapses.

Pakistan has increasingly positioned itself as a mediator in the crisis, maintaining communication with both Tehran and Washington amid growing fears of a broader Middle East conflict.
