Niamey, 2 August 2022 (TDI): The Deputy Mayor and President of the City Council of Niamey Oumarou Dogari received Ambassador Ahmed Ali Sirohey, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, to Niger.

The Ambassador of Pakistan also gifted Oumarou Dogari the “Ajrak” to symbolize friendship and hospitality. The Ajrak is traditional clothing from Sindh Province of Pakistan which marks the civility, nobility, and honor of its wearer.
During the meeting, both the representatives discussed the framework of bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Niger.
In addition, the improvement of relations via collaboration in different fields was also discussed. Moreover, they also explored prospects for friendly relations.
Pakistan and Niger Relations
Pakistan and Niger have had good bilateral relations in the past. While addressing the business community at an event in Islamabad, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Niger, Ahmed Ali Sirohey, stressed collaborating with Niger.
He stated that acting as a gateway between Sub-Saharan Africa, North Africa, and Niger holds great opportunities for Pakistan. Niger has also been very keen to promote business and collaborate with Pakistan.
Ahmed Ali Sirohey also urged that Pakistan’s public and private sectors, including the Chamber of Commerce and Industries, are ready to explore the possibilities of business in Niger.
He said that the government of Pakistan is facilitating the process, and this meeting and resultant understanding will help us move ahead with the progress on trade and business development.
Ambassador Pakistan is playing a constructive role in building stronger ties with the local community in Niger.
Both the states have been involved in various mutual projects in the agriculture and trade sectors. Pakistan’s Ambassador to Niger is quite confident that such business deals would surely boost the trade between Pakistan and the African region.
He’s also very optimistic regarding economic prosperity, and both states can achieve mutual benefits through such collaboration. This recent meeting mainly focused on enhancing relations among the states and looking forward to doing better in the future.
