Islamabad (TDI): Ambassador of Sweden to Pakistan, Alexandra Berg von Linde, called on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Friday to discuss matters of mutual interest.
During the meeting, Dar welcomed the ambassador and extended his best wishes for her tenure.
He commended the positive trajectory of bilateral relations between Sweden and Pakistan and emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation in trade, investment, education, and people-to-people exchanges.
Pakistan-Sweden Ties
Pakistan and Sweden share a long history of diplomatic ties, characterized by strong cooperation in various sectors including trade, education, development, and cultural exchanges.
Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in 1948, and over the years, the relationship has evolved based on mutual respect, shared interests, and collaborative efforts.

Sweden has been an important trading partner for Pakistan in Europe. Pakistani exports to Sweden include textiles, garments, leather goods, and agricultural products, while Sweden exports machinery, vehicles, and chemicals to Pakistan.
Both countries have expressed a commitment to further enhancing bilateral trade and investment.
Sweden has been a key donor for Pakistan, particularly in areas related to poverty alleviation, education, healthcare, and gender equality.

Swedish aid has supported Pakistan’s development programs, particularly in rural areas and for marginalized communities.
