Islamabad (TDI): Pakistan and Qatar on Sunday reaffirmed their commitment to supporting dialogue and sustained peace efforts in the Middle East, as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the two leaders discussed the evolving regional situation and reviewed ongoing diplomatic initiatives aimed at promoting peace and stability across the region.
Both sides stressed the importance of constructive engagement by all parties to ensure the success of current peace efforts and reiterated their shared support for dialogue-based solutions.
In a post on X, Prime Minister Shehbaz said he conveyed appreciation to Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for his leadership and Qatar’s continued support for Pakistan’s efforts to promote regional peace and stability through diplomacy.
The premier also expressed his anticipation for the upcoming visit of the Qatari emir to Pakistan, saying the visit would further strengthen and expand the longstanding partnership between the two countries.
The conversation comes amid Pakistan’s continued diplomatic engagement in the Middle East following tensions triggered by the US-Israel conflict with Iran earlier this year.
