Pakistan High Commission Launches Education Expo in Bangladesh

Dhaka (TDI): As part of the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor, the High Commission of Pakistan in Dhaka is hosting a multi-city “Pakistan Education Expo,” starting Monday.

Happening in six cities, including Dhaka, representatives from over 20 leading Pakistani public and private universities are participating in the expo, to provide complete guidance to aspiring students.

Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor aims to strengthen people-to-people contacts and promote professional linkages through higher education, research and innovation building on the shared history and traditions of both countries.

By encouraging academic exchange and mutual learning, the initiative will create new opportunities for students and scholars, symbolizing a bridge of understanding and progress between the two brotherly nations.

The opening ceremony of the expo was set to take place at the Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel in Dhaka, followed by sessions at the University of Barishal on May 12, the University of Rajshahi on May 14 and the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology in Sylhet on May 17.

The tour will continue to Chittagong University on 18 May and conclude at the Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur on May 20.

The expo is closely aligned with the  Allama Iqbal Scholarships program, which offers 500 fully funded scholarships for Bangladeshi students to pursue undergraduate and graduate studies in prestigious Pakistani institutions.

These scholarships cover international travel, tuition fees, living stipends and book allowances across various disciplines such as medicine, engineering, business administration, computer science and mass communication.

​An essential part of the Knowledge Corridor is the long-term commitment to capacity building through a strategic academic framework.

The project plans for specialized leadership training for Bangladeshi civil servants over the next five years, focusing on public administration, governance and public policy.

The Pakistani universities taking part in the expo include National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), IBA Karachi, Dow University of Health Sciences, Bahria University, COMSATS, FAST-NUCES, GIKI, IMSciences, Iqra University, Khyber Medical University, NUML, NED University, NUTECH, Pak-Austria Fachhochschule, PIEAS and the Universities of Peshawar, Lahore and Faisalabad.
