Islamabad (TDI): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday expressed deep concern after three Pakistani nationals were injured in an incident at Khor Fakkan Port in the United Arab Emirates, amid escalating regional tensions linked to the ongoing Iran War.
In a statement shared on social media, the premier said he was “deeply concerned” after an intercepted projectile resulted in injuries to civilians, including Pakistanis. He prayed for the swift recovery of those injured and assured that Pakistan is in close contact with UAE authorities to provide all possible support to its citizens.
Reaffirming Islamabad’s stance, the prime minister said Pakistan stands in solidarity with the people of the UAE and stressed the urgent need for restraint and de-escalation in the region.
According to the Sharjah Media Office, the incident occurred when debris from a missile interception by UAE air defense systems fell near Khor Fakkan Port, triggering a fire. Emergency response teams were quickly deployed to the site, bringing the blaze under control and initiating cooling operations.

Officials confirmed that three Pakistani nationals sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate, while a Nepali citizen suffered serious injuries and was shifted to a hospital for treatment.
The UAE, along with other Gulf states, has faced spillover effects from Iran’s retaliatory actions in response to the ongoing confrontation with the United States and Israel. Authorities say the security situation remains under close monitoring.
