Islamabad, 10 April 2022 (TDI): An interline agreement between Pakistan and Virgin Australia Airlines has allowed Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to begin direct flight operations to Sydney from April 22. It will also provide connections to eight more Australian cities.

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is expected to start its first direct flight from Pakistan to Sydney on April 22nd.
The flights will initially operate on Fridays from Lahore to Sydney and Sundays from Sydney to Lahore.
In order to provide PIA passengers with even more travel options, the airline has entered into an interline agreement with Virgin Australia for destinations outside of Sydney.
According to a PIA spokesperson, the flights will be operated from Lahore to Sydney on Friday and from Sydney to Lahore on Sunday. Arrangements have also been made, with an interline agreement allowing PIA passengers to fly directly to Sydney and eight other Australian destinations.
The interline agreement gives passengers more choices and allows PIA to offer seats outside of Sydney to eight destinations on the VA network, including Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Ballina Byron, Hobart, Cairns, and Perth. PIA CEO Air Marshal Arshad Malik expressed his delight at the network’s expansion and instructed the marketing and frontline employees to deliver the best possible service to passengers.

The direct non-stop flights to Sydney save time and provide passengers with baggage allowances of 45kg and 55kg for economy and executive economy passengers.
It is said to be the highest free baggage allowance currently available, according to the PIA spokesperson, who also stated PIA is planning on expanding its network.
Passengers can now book flights on PIA’s website, official phone number, Android app, call center, and through travel agents.
