New York, 22 September 2021 (TDI): Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, met the Foreign Minister of Norway, Ms. Ine Eriksen Soreide. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 76th session of United Nations General Assembly at United Nations Headquarters, New York.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi congratulated his Norwegian counterpart for Norway’s membership in the United Nations Security Council. He also highlighted the crucial role played by the vibrant diaspora in bridging the relationship between the two countries.
Norwegian Foreign Minister was briefed regarding the humanitarian assistance provided by Pakistan to Afghanistan. Shah also presented a dossier regarding India’s human rights violations in Indian Occupied Kashmir to Norwegian side.
The two Foreign Ministers pledged to further strengthen the relationship and enhance bilateral cooperation at all levels; especially in political, economic and clean energy domains.
