Islamabad, 12 November 2021 (TDI): National Security Advisor, Dr. Moeed Yusuf in a meeting with five member US delegation advocated for international assistance to Afghanistan. Special Representative for Afghanistan, Thomas West headed the five member US delegation.

In the meeting with US delegates, Pakistan’s National Security advisor emphasized a system to address issues in Afghanistan. He advocated for a system that will consider the turmoil in Afghanistan and supply food supplies accordingly. He added that the food supplies should reach Afghanistan before the harsh winter begins. National Security Advisor told the US delegates that Afghan citizens are in dire need of humanitarian assistance.

National Security Advisor stated that Pakistan is committed to making the world realize to not repeat the same mistakes of the past. Isolating Afghanistan would create Political vacuums and instability. Political vacuums in Afghanistan will have a high possibility of manipulation by terrorist organizations. Therefore, it is imperative for the international community to engage in dialogue with the Taliban regime to avert any form of a humanitarian crisis, Instability, and terrorism.

National Security Advisor, Moeed Yusuf conveyed that assisting Afghanistan is not only in the best interest of Pakistan but of the whole world. The 5 member US Delegation and National Security Advisor concluded the meeting with a mutual understanding of strengthening bilateral ties. The dignitaries showed determination in extending bilateral cooperation.
