
London, 10 December 2021 (TDI): Moroccan Foreign Minister, Nasser Bourita, visited London, United Kingdom (UK), on 9 December. He met with the high officials of the United Kingdom. Besides, Minister Nasser Bourita attended the Strategic Dialogue with UK authorities.
Meeting with Britsih Foreign Minister
Morocco Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita met with British Minister for Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development, Liz Truss.

In the meeting, both sides reaffirmed the shared vision of establishing a strategic partnership between Morrocan and the UK Strategic Partnership established through enhancing economic relations & security cooperation, strengthening political dialogue, and promoting cultural and human relations.
Moreover, the UK official praised Morocco’s leadership during the 26th session of the Conference of Parties (COP26). The UK appreciated the efforts of Morocco for climate change resilience in the African continent.
Furthermore, both sides adopted a joint political declaration. They also signed two decisions for the new Morocco-UK partnership agreement mechanism. Both officials also formed a sub-committee for investment, trade, health, customs, fishing, agriculture, and services.
Additionally, they pledged to enhance cooperation to combat climate change and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Discussion on Libya and Western Sahara
Morocco and UK Ministers also discussed the situation in Libya. Both officials reiterated their firm attachment to Libya’s independence, sovereignty, territorial and national unity.
Moreover, they deliberated over the role of the United Nations in an inclusive political process in Libya. They praised the ceasefire agreement and withdrawal of forces from Libya as well as condemned the use of chemical weapons in the conflict.
The UK also reaffirmed its support to Security Council Resolution 2602. Resolution Morocco commends efforts to solve the conflict on the Moroccan Sahara.
Meeting with British Minister for the Middle East and North Africa
Nasser Bouritaalso also met with the Minister for the Middle East and North Africa in the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office, James Cleverly.
Both officials chaired the British-Moroccan Strategic Dialogue. They also signed the first Agreement on Trade and Expansion of Economic Ties. Besides, they discussed bilateral relations between UK and Morocco.
