Tokyo, 23 November 2021 (TDI): Vietnamese Prime Minister, Pham Minh Chinh is on a state visit to Japan. During his stay in Japan, Pham Minh Chinh held a meeting with the former Japanese Prime Minister, Suga Yoshihide.

President of the Japan–Viet Nam Parliamentary Friendship Union Nikai Toshihiro was also present in the meeting. The Vietnamese Prime Minister expressed satisfaction at the comprehensive improvement of the Vietnam and Japan extensive strategic partnership.
This will be featuring high political trust between the two countries. He also appreciated Japan’s donation of vaccine doses to Vietnam. During his visit, Prime Minister also witnessed the departure ceremony of Japanese citrus unshiu export to Vietnam.
The fruit trading, including Vietnamese longan and lychee, will boost strong trade ties between the two countries.
Visit of Japan
Earlier, Prime Minister Pham landed in Japan at the invitation of his counterpart Prime Minister, Kishida Fumio.
The Vietnamese Prime Minister is accompanied by Minister of National Defense, Phan Van Giang, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bui Thanh Son for the state visit to japan. Minister of Home Affairs, Pham Thi Thanh Tra, and Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung are also part of the delegation.
The visit will provide an opportunity for the Premier to dialogue with leaders of the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren) and host leaders of major Japanese firms.
After the election, Kishida Fumio is hosting the first-ever state visit to Japan. The Prime Ministers also attended the ASEAN-Japan Summit last month and held talks at the sidelines of the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26), earlier this month.
Prime Minister, Pham Minh Chinh will also meet with Japanese Premier Kishida Fumio, during this visit. The two will address the ‘investment promotion conference’, besides other issues of mutual interest.
Japan and Vietnam established diplomatic relations in 1973. They will celebrate the Golden Jubilee of their relations, in 2023.
