Guinea receives second batch of vaccines under COVAX program

-

Conakry, 18 September 2021(TDI): Guinea received the second batch of vaccines this Friday. The batch has 206,400 doses of Sinovac. The batch was delivered under the support of the COVAX program (The COVID-19 vaccines global access facility) with UNICEF at the forefront. The UNICEF and COAX are ensuring equitable vaccine supply globally. The arrival of these vaccines will increase the immunization struggles of the Government of Guinea against the Covid-19.

COVAX is co-led by the Vaccine Alliance, Gavi, and the World health organization while UNICEF is coordinating with all the partners and manufacturers of not only vaccines but also other medical equipment. The EU also joined COVAX and invested 400 million euros.
Besides many other pandemics, the COVID-19 pandemic has been a great realization for setting collective agendas beyond the state. COVAX program is the best example for global health diplomacy with many other giant countries joining in and coordinating for vaccine supply to countries like Guinea. The truth of survival and growth is being revealed in multilateralism, global health diplomacy, and international cooperation.
