Riyadh, 9 March 2022 (TDI): Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi landed at King Khalid International Airport Riyadh to pay his official visit along with his delegation. Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman welcomed him at the Airport.
The Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has been hosted at the Al-Yamamah Palace by Saudi King Salman where a luncheon was also held in his honor.
A spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency namely Bassam Rady said that meeting between the King and President was followed by talks in an affable environment that included delegations from both states.
From the Saudi side, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of State, Cabinet Member and National Security Adviser Dr. Musaed bin Muhammad Al-Aiban, and Minister of State and Cabinet Member for Shura Council Affairs Dr. Essam bin Saad bin Saeed (accompanying minister) were present.
Also, Chief of General Intelligence, Mr. Khalid bin Ali Al Humaidan, and Osama bin Ahmed Naqli, the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Egypt were members of the delegation.
On the Egyptian side, Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, Intelligence Chief Major General Abbas Kamel, Presidential Chief of Staff Major General Ahmed Mohamed Ali, and Egyptian Ambassador to the Kingdom, Ahmed Farouk were members of the delegation.
King Salman commended the bilateral relations and the pivotal role of Egypt in ensuring Arab world security and stability besides its unwavering support for Arab Gulf states, particularly Saudi Arabia.
During the meeting, Prince Mohammed bin Salman and El-Sisi also discussed the bilateral relations, regional & international developments, efforts exerted concerning them, and issues of mutual interest.
Later, Prince Mohammed accompanied El-Sisi on a tour of Diriyah’s historic At-Turaif district. The dignitaries have toured the neighborhood’s historical landmarks and urban heritage, which showcases the emergence of the first Saudi state and its capital since its establishment by Imam Muhammad bin Saud until the present time.

Saudi Ambassador to Egypt namely Osama Nugali said that the visit comes within the framework of the continuous consultations and growth of relations between the two brotherly countries.
He added that a large number of agreements, memoranda of understanding, and protocols were signed between both states. In addition to the historical, religious, and Arab dimensions these initiatives are conferring the strategic dimension in their relationship.
Ambassador Nugali revealed that Saudi Arabia is the second-largest foreign investor in Egypt, and the latter stood at second position among the states for which investment licenses were issued in the Kingdom in 2020.
Furthermore, President El-Sisi has also discussed with Prince Muhammad Bin Salman about Saudi leaders’ economic cooperation and the repercussions of the Russia-Ukraine conflict on global markets
In common parlance, it has been said that the depth and strength of Saudi-Egyptian relations have denoted into frequent visits and perpetual contact between officials from both states.
Two weeks ago, President El-Sisi also congratulated King Salman on the anniversary of Saudi Arabia’s Founding Day in the recent instance.
