Ecuador’s Foreign Minister received the credentials of Malaysian Ambassador

Quito, 2 October 2021 (TDI): In a virtual ceremony, the Foreign Minister of Ecuador received copies of the credentials of the Malaysian Ambassador to Ecuador, based in Chile, Abu Bakar, on 1 October.

Abu Bakar transmitted his regards and best wishes to Ecuador President Guillermo Laso. He also manifested his admiration and congratulations to the vaccination campaign in Ecuador. The Ambassador discussed the interest of Malaysia in working with artificial intelligence, due to the benefits to gather and manage information and with the projects of sustainable cultivation of palm.

Malaysian Ambassador referred in the meeting, the leadership of Malaysia in tourism while expressing gratitude for price competitiveness, excellent connectivity, and intern tourism. He mentioned the fact that tourism revenues make up 33% of the gross domestic product of Malaysia.

Montalvo, remarking the importance that Ecuador gives to its relations, expressed his best wishes to develop a fruitful relation regarding commercial topics, and highlighted the interest of Ecuador to enter the Comprehensive and Progressive Treaty of Trans-Pacific Partnership, and requested the support of Malaysia.
