BEIJING (TDI): Chinese airports are witnessing a significant travel rise since the start of the week-long National Day holidays, driven by a visa-free policy and increased flight availability.
According to data issued by the Ministry of Transport civil aviation passenger volumes have exceeded 2.2 million trips per day for three consecutive days since October 1.
Beijing Daxing International Airport is expected to handle 146,900 passenger trips on October 4, with over 1 million trips projected throughout the holiday period.

In Shanghai, the two main airports anticipate an average of nearly 370,000 passenger trips daily, reflecting a 14.4 percent increase compared to the same time last year.
The travel boom is also evident in smaller cities.
Harbin Taiping International Airport is forecasted to welcome 14,000 inbound and outbound passengers, with 100 flights scheduled—representing year-on-year increases of 41.9 percent and 1.1 percent, respectively.

Outbound travel interest spans a wide range, with ticket and hotel bookings covering 1,597 cities across 144 countries and regions, according to travel platform qunar.com.
The cities with the highest number of outbound ticket orders, all within a five-hour flight radius, include Hong Kong, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, and Osaka.
