Beijing (TDI): China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) on Tuesday expressed firm opposition to the US’ addition of eleven Chinese companies to its “Entity List” citing so-called military-related reasons, urging the United States to immediately stop its wrongdoing and vowing to take necessary steps to protect Chinese entities’ rights and interests.
Asked to comment on the US Department of Commerce’s decision of adding a number of Chinese entities to its export control “Entity List”, a spokesperson for the MOFCOM said that the US added eleven Chinese entities to the list on the grounds of so-called military involvement.
“Beijing firmly opposes this,” the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson added that for a long time, Washington has overstretched the concept of national security, abused export control steps, suppressed and contained entities in other nations, gravely damaged the legitimate rights and interests of relevant entities, undermined the security and stability of the international industrial chain and supply chain, and hindered the recovery and development of the global economy.

A Chinese expert has also criticized the US’ latest move as “detrimental to itself,” as it is politically motivated, risks disrupting international supply chains, and undermines market balance and stability.
