Azerbaijani Members of Parliament congratulated by their Bulgarian Counterparts

Baku, 14 October 2021 (TDI): The Milli Majlis recently received a letter written by Hamid Hamid, the chairman of the People’s Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria’s friendship group with Azerbaijan. Its press service told AZERTAC that the letter delivered to Rauf Aliyev, the leader of the working group on inter-parliamentary ties with Bulgaria, expressed heartfelt congratulations to Azerbaijani Members of Parliament on the country’s historic victory in the Karabakh war.

At the same time, there was a wish to repair the damage done to Azerbaijan’s Armenian-occupied area as soon as possible. And to restore peace and serenity to the region. The congratulatory letter expresses a desire to finish the restoration and reconstruction of Azerbaijan’s liberated areas. Along with the return of displaced people to their homelands.

On January 14, 1992, the Bulgarian government recognized Azerbaijan’s independence. On June 5, 1992, Azerbaijan and Bulgaria established diplomatic relations. The Bulgarian Embassy in Baku has been open since December 1999. Whereas the Azerbaijani Embassy in Sofia opened in 2005.
