An announcement by Foreign Office of Pakistan stated the visit of Acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan, Amir Khan Muttaqi.

Islamabad, 10 November 2021 (TDI): Pakistan’s Foreign Office announced that the Acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan, Amir Khan Muttaqi will visit Pakistan. The acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan is to visit Pakistan from 10-12 November. His visit will lead the high-level ministerial delegation.


This visit will also reciprocate the trajectory of diplomatic ties that Pakistan has set forth with the Taliban regime. It is also indicating a follow-up visit after Pakistan’s Foreign Minister visited Kabul on 21 October 2021.

In the scheduled visit of the acting foreign minister of Afghanistan, Pakistan and Afghanistan will engage to deliberate on enhancing bilateral trade. Adding more to it, the two sides will consider possibilities to maximize transit trade, people-to-people contacts, and regional connectivity. The two sides will also focus on issues pertaining to cross-border movement and land and aviation links.

Pakistan is actively pursuing a foreign policy that advocates international resolve of crisis in Afghanistan and extends humanitarian aid. Pakistan is fully committed to supporting Afghanistan to avert any crisis in Afghanistan.
