The ambassador briefed the participants in detail about Bosnia; it’s languages, geography, climate, economy, and culture. “I don’t like to say it’s a small country,” the ambassador remarked as he spotlighted the nation’s big wins and informed the participants of the impressive ways Bosnians have made their mark.
He also laid out the foreign policy priorities of the southeast European country, and told the cohort that prioritizing the Bosnian diaspora remains a priority. Speaking of diaspora, the ambassador said that there is currently 300,000 Bosnians living in the United States.
The relationship between the two countries draws solidarity from the famous and historical support that Pakistan extended during Bosnia’s 1990s conflict.
The participants, hailing from diverse backgrounds and regions of Pakistan, appreciated the opportunity to hear directly from the ambassador.
IPDS organizes the International Young Diplomats School as a unique platform to engage with diplomatic missions, learn about global opportunities, and strengthen people-to-people ties.
With each edition, the initiative is gaining popularity among students and emerging leaders all over Pakistan.
The curated visits seek to nurture the next generation of Pakistani public diplomats and policy professionals while supporting the public diplomacy outreach of diplomatic missions based in Pakistan.
Established in December 2008, The Diplomatic Insight is Pakistan’s premier diplomacy and foreign affairs magazine, available in both digital and print formats.
