Pakistani nationals can once again get a tourist visa on arrival in Qatar, valid for 30 days, provided they meet a set of financial, documentary and health requirements before they fly.

The conditions come from Qatar’s Ministry of Interior. Applicants must show at least QR5,000, or the equivalent available on a valid credit card. They must also hold a confirmed return ticket and a passport with at least six months of remaining validity.

Travelers arriving directly from Pakistan must carry a polio vaccination certificate. Business visas are not covered by the arrangement and are granted only through accredited companies.

Visitors must book accommodation through Discover Qatar, the country’s official tourism platform, before boarding. They must also buy at least one month of health insurance, which costs QR50.

QIC and QLM are among the recommended providers, and the full list of approved insurers is on the Ministry of Public Health website.

After purchase, an email with the receipt and insurance certificate is sent to the registered address. Travelers must carry both documents.

On arrival in Doha, visitors go first to the Discover Qatar desk, which sits before the immigration counters. Staff verify and stamp their documents. Passengers then proceed to immigration for visa processing, eye scans and biometric checks.

The visa is valid for up to 30 days, though the actual stay allowed may be shorter if the hotel reservation covers fewer nights. It can be extended by a further 30 days, subject to the applicable conditions. A confirmed return ticket is required before an extension is granted.

The announcement follows a period of uncertainty. On March 30, the Pakistan Embassy in Doha issued an advisory saying the visa-on-arrival facility for Pakistani nationals was temporarily unavailable because of the prevailing situation.

It urged travelers to secure a visa before departure, warning that those arriving without one could face entry restrictions and difficulty at immigration.

Travelers planning a trip should confirm the latest rules with Qatar’s Ministry of Interior, Discover Qatar or the Pakistan Embassy in Doha before booking, as entry conditions have shifted several times this year.
