Islamabad, (TDI): On the occasion of the International Day of Older People, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has extended his heartfelt greetings to the senior citizens of Pakistan, paying tribute to their invaluable contributions and acknowledging their pivotal role in society.

“Our senior citizens are the custodians of our history, the bearers of wisdom, and the anchors of our families,” the prime minister remarked in his statement.

He emphasized the need to strengthen support systems and promote an inclusive society that safeguards the rights and welfare of the elderly, in line with this year’s theme, “Ageing with Dignity: The Importance of Strengthening Care and Support Systems for Older Persons Worldwide.”

The prime minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life for senior citizens through improved access to healthcare, social services, and community engagement.
