Doha (TDI): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who arrived in Doha earlier today, met Qatar’s Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at the Amiri Diwan.
The meeting lasted over an hour and focused on regional and international developments, with particular attention to the situation in the Middle East.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Qatari Amir welcomed the Pakistani prime minister and his delegation, and appreciated Pakistan’s role in supporting efforts to reduce tensions in the region and promote diplomatic engagement aimed at regional stability.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, on his part, strongly condemned recent attacks on Qatar and other Gulf states and reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with the leadership and people of Qatar.

Both leaders stressed the importance of de-escalation and closer international coordination to maintain peace and stability in the region. They also highlighted the need to ensure the smooth flow of global energy supplies.
The discussions also covered bilateral relations between Pakistan and Qatar, with both sides agreeing on the need to strengthen cooperation in areas such as security, defense, and energy, and to expand broader economic and strategic ties.
Senior officials from both countries attended the meeting. From the Qatari side, the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, and other senior officials were present. From Pakistan, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Syed Tariq Fatemi were among those in attendance.

In addition to the wider delegation meeting, the Amir and the Pakistani prime minister also held a one-on-one discussion, during which they exchanged views on ongoing regional developments and agreed on the importance of continued close coordination between the two countries.
After the talks, the Amir hosted a luncheon in honour of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his delegation.
