Türkiye Praises Pakistan’s Role in Promoting Regional Peace

Istanbul (TDI): Speaker National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, met his Turkish counterpart Numan Kurtulmuş on the sidelines of the 152nd Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) General Assembly in Istanbul.

During the meeting, Ayaz Sadiq congratulated Türkiye on successfully hosting the global parliamentary gathering and appreciated its hospitality. He highlighted the importance of such forums in fostering dialogue among lawmakers, sharing experiences, and addressing common global challenges through cooperation and democratic engagement.

He appreciated Türkiye’s hospitality and commended the active participation of parliamentarians from across the world, reflecting the spirit of parliamentary diplomacy and international cooperation. He noted that such global parliamentary forums provide an important platform for elected representatives to exchange views, share experiences, and deliberate on common challenges, while strengthening mutual understanding, democratic values, and dialogue for global peace and development.

During the meeting, both sides discussed bilateral relations, regional developments, and issues of mutual interest, and reaffirmed the longstanding fraternal ties between Pakistan and Türkiye.

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq emphasized that war and conflict cannot resolve disputes and stressed the importance of peaceful resolution through sustained dialogue. He highlighted that Pakistan has consistently played a constructive role in facilitating dialogue and bringing parties closer to the negotiating table, reaffirming that diplomacy and engagement remain essential for sustainable peace.

He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to peace, stability, and mutual respect, and its continued advocacy of dialogue, tolerance, and constructive engagement at the global level, while also reaffirming strong relations with brotherly Islamic countries.

On the occasion, the Turkish Speaker appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional peace and acknowledged its timely contribution in de-escalating tensions and preventing broader crises. He specifically commended the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, and Chief of Army Staff & Chief of Defense Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.

Both Speakers agreed to further strengthen parliamentary diplomacy through enhanced institutional cooperation, exchange of delegations, and closer parliamentary engagement, reaffirming their shared commitment to regional peace and stability.

Ayaz Sadiq expressed gratitude for the Turkish leadership’s appreciation and reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to continue contributing positively towards peace and stability at regional and global levels.
