Astana (TDI): Kazakhstan Temir Zholy opened double-track freight train traffic from Moiynty to Balkhash ahead of the schedule, as part of the construction of second tracks on the Dostyk – Moiynty railway section.
On the 127-kilometer section, the connection of signaling, centralization and blocking devices was successfully completed.
The new infrastructure was tested by a mobile diagnostic complex.
The project to build second tracks on the Dostyk – Moiynty railway section with a length of 836 km is planned to be completed this summer.

Most of the construction work is nearing completion.
To date, the track and sleeper grid has been laid on 769 km, while 99% of the excavation work has been completed.
The installation of reinforced concrete pipes (255 out of 259) and bridges (88 out of 92) are also nearing completion.
The signaling, communications and power supply systems are being successfully installed.
In the project, over 630 km of various cables have been laid and 12,998 supports for high-voltage lines have been installed.

This is one of the major infrastructure projects of KTZ, thanks to which the capacity of the freight-intensive Dostyk – Moiynty line will increase 5 times.
