Islamabad, 22 December 2023 (TDI): The newly appointed Russian Ambassador to Pakistan, Ambassador Albert P. Khorev, presented the copies of letters of credence to the Chief of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, Tipu Sultan.
Russian President, Vladimir Putin on Friday 10th November signed an executive order to officially appoint Albert Khorev, as the new Ambassador of Russia to Pakistan.
According to a document published on the official portal of legal information the appointment of Ambassador was notified.
The document said, “To appoint Albert Khorev as the Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.”
Albert Khorev replaced, Danila Ganich, who was serving as the extraordinary and plenipotentiary Ambassador of Russia to Pakistan since his appointment in April 2019.
Albert Khorev, newly appointed Russian Ambassador to Pakistan, was born in 1979. He has served as the head of the Afghanistan Division for Russian Foreign Ministry Second Asia Department.
The Ambassador graduated from the Institute of Asian and African Studies of Moscow State University in 2002, further in 2011 was qualified from the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.
The Ambassador joined the Russian diplomatic service in 2002. He has the rank of Envoy Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Second Class. The Ambassador hold commands over English, Dari, Pashto, and Persian languages.
Previously, before his appointment as the new Ambassador to Pakistan, he was serving as the Deputy Director of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Second Asia Department since 2020.
The diplomatic relations between Pakistan and the Russian Federation were officially established on May 1st, 1948. This year marked the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
