Beijing (TDI): China reiterated its clear and consistent stance on the Ukraine conflict on Monday, emphasizing the need for an early ceasefire and a political resolution, following reports that the United States, the United Kingdom, and France have authorized Kiev to utilize long-range weaponry against targets deep within Russian territory.
In a statement, the Chinese Foreign Ministry stressed that de-escalating the crisis remains the top priority, urging all parties to take responsible actions to foster conditions for peace talks.
Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian, addressing a press briefing, underscored China’s commitment to playing a constructive role in seeking a peaceful solution through its distinct approach.
The remarks follow reports of a significant shift in U.S. policy, with the Biden administration permitting Ukraine to use American-made weapons for strikes inside Russia.

Similar approvals have been granted by France and Britain, allowing Kiev to deploy SCALP and Storm Shadow missiles, according to US media reports.
The developments coincide with reports of Russia launching a large-scale missile and drone assault on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, causing widespread power outages.
