Rawalpindi, 9 August 2021 (TDI): The Chinese ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong met Pakistan’s Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed at his residence in Rawalpindi.
Amb. Nong and Minister Sheikh Rasheed discussed the matters of mutual interests and bilateral cooperation during the meeting. The investigation process of the recent Dasu incident and prevailing security issues of the Chinese citizens in Pakistan was the highlight of the meeting. Both sides also agreed to a swift investigation of the Dasu attack.
During the meeting Minister Sheikh Rasheed assured Nong about the security of Chinese workers and companies working in Pakistan. Rasheed further added that no outside power can halt the progress of CPEC and affect the strong bilateral relations between the two states.
In response to Rasheed’s remarks, Ambassador Nong said that many Chinese nationals and companies are working in Pakistan and that he appreciates the efforts of the Pakistan government in providing facilities to the Chinese nationals.
