President Xi’s telephonic contact with Malawi’s President

Beijing, 28 August 2021 (TDI): Chinese President Xi Jinping had telephonic contact with his Malawian counterpart President Lazarus Chakwera.

During the call, Xi called out Malawi as a reliable partner and agreed to support the nation for its economic and social development. Xi also underlined the developed relations between the two states and their people over time and appreciated the state for its 1 China stance.

As per the need of the hour, Xi also offered China’s support to Malawi in its anti-pandemic fight by providing the state COVID19 vaccines. He also expressed his desire of working and increasing cooperation with Malawi in sectors of governance, poverty eradication, agriculture, health care, and infrastructure development.

Chakwera for his part extended his wishes to Xi on the centenary of CPC and also thanked China for its much valuable cooperation with the state in all the sectors including the anti-pandemic drive. He also expressed his desire to increase relations and expand cooperation with China in several sectors.
