Qureshi spoke to Antonio Guterres

Islamabad, 28 August (TDI): Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi had a telephonic conversation with the Secretary-General of the United Nations on the unfolding situation of Afghanistan, yesterday.

Qureshi said that Islamabad would keep participating in humanitarian works to restore peace and stability in Afghanistan. The two leaders extensively discussed the prevailing situation in Afghanistan.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres thanked Qureshi for Islamabad’s role in helping the humanitarian mission of UN workers in Afghanistan and asked for its continuation. Qureshi also praised the role of the United Nations in the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan.

He reassured the Secretary-General for all potential support of Islamabad for the United Nations to achieve its chartered role.
