Moscow (TDI): Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk met with Pakistan’s Minister for Privatization, Investment, and Communications Abdul Aleem Khan to discuss key issues of mutual interest, including bilateral trade and communication channels.
The meeting, which also included Russian Minister for Transport Roman Starovoit and Deputy Minister of Economic Development Alexey Gruzdev, focused on expanding economic ties between the two countries.
The meeting also discussed Tapi gas project, means of communication and various projects.
Aleem Khan expressed Pakistan’s interest in deepening its business partnership with Russia, highlighting the country’s investment opportunities.

He also said discussions with Russia’s business community had been productive and emphasized the potential for increased collaboration on several projects.
Overchuk, in response, extended Russia’s full cooperation to Pakistan, praising the country’s interest in the North-South International Transport Corridor.
He noted that the corridor could become a major trade route, connecting Euro-Asian and North-South countries, and enhancing regional connectivity.

The meeting also addressed the construction of a proposed trade corridor and rail track linking Pakistan, Iran, Azerbaijan, and Russia.
Both sides reviewed various aspects of trade, economic cooperation, and bilateral relations, including the International Road Transport Agreement signed between the two countries in November 2022.
Aleem Khan also spoke about the Pak-Russia Business and Investment Forum.
He predicted that the forum would yield positive results and further strengthen trade relations between the two nations.
Both sides agreed to continue negotiations and cooperation across multiple sectors.
The meeting was attended by Pakistan’s Ambassador to Russia, Khalid Jamali, along with other senior officials.
