Beijing (TDI): Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for comprehensive efforts to strengthen military theory as part of the modernization of China’s national defense and armed forces, with an emphasis on developing a martial theory system with distinct Chinese characteristics.
In his message to a high-level meeting on military theory held in Beijing on Monday and Tuesday, Xi underscored the importance of modernizing military theory as a crucial aspect of building a strong military.
With global military advancements evolving rapidly and China’s security needs undergoing profound changes, Xi stressed that achieving the goal of building a powerful military is now more urgent than ever.

He emphasized that efforts related to military theory must be comprehensively enhanced to keep pace with these developments.
Xi highlighted the need to integrate Marxist principles with the practical experience of building China’s armed forces, while also incorporating elements of traditional Chinese military culture.
He called for optimizing the top-level design of military theory innovations, improving research models, and enhancing the practical application of military theory.
These efforts, he said, would provide the scientific basis and guidance needed to accelerate China’s progress towards building a world-class military.

Zhang Youxia, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice chairman of the CMC, conveyed Xi’s instructions at the meeting and delivered a speech.
The attendees discussed strategies for further developing China’s military theory to meet the demands of the new era.
