Abu Dhabi, 5 November 2021 (TDI): The President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo is on a state visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). UAE’s Energy Minister, Suhail Al Mazroui received him upon arrival. Prior to this visit, he attended COP26 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Meeting with Crown Prince of UAE
During his visit, the Indonesian President met with the Crown Prince of UAE, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The two discussed multiple issues during the meeting; from G20, cooperation in the field of renewable energy, the construction of a new capital city, to investment.
Visit to Jubail Mangrove Park
President Widodo also visited the Jubail Mangrove Park on Al Jubail Island. Jubail Mangrove Park covers the coastline of Abu Dhabi. On the way to the island, he also visited the construction site of the new office of the Indonesian Embassy in Abu Dhabi.
Dubai Exhibition Center

At the Dubai Exhibition Center, the ruler of UAE; Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum received the Indonesian President was received at the Lobby Leadership Pavilion.
The two witnessed the signing of MoUs and agreements between ministries and agencies. The agreements are related to various fields of the two countries.
Indonesia-UAE Investment Forum
Joko Widodo also attended the Indonesia-UAE Investment Forum in Dubai. Three development sectors were presented at the Forum in which the two states can cooperate. The three sectors are the construction of Indonesia’s new capital city, the energy transition sector, and the trade sector.
Indonesia Pavilion at the Dubai Expo

He also visited the Indonesia Pavilion at the Dubai Expo exhibition arena. With an area of two thousand square meters, the Pavilion has a grandiose design. It represents Indonesia’s national character as well as diversity and pluralism.
The Indonesia Pavilion aims to showcase and promote the country’s micro, small and medium-scale enterprises (MSMEs). The President also visited the UAE Pavilion where he saw a film on the development of UAE civilization.
Performance of Indonesian Cultural Folklore
Eventually, the President attended a performance of Indonesian cultural folklore with the Crown Prince. The title of the performance was ‘Land of Diversity’ and included, a dance performance depicting Indonesia’s diversity.
